Toad and Oracle are pretty complex. Give me a window which can follow me through a Toad window, offering help on exactly what I need, where I need it. Give me access to Oracle documentation in context, give me access to any relevant expert recommendations on the web (blogs, articles, etc. - AS RANKED) on a field-by-field basis. Dream big!
Similar to Options > Startup > "Script to execute on startup and new connections," offer a way to execute a Toad App or Action on startup and upon new connections.
Toad Tips seemed a good idea at the time, fulfilling a concern by Product Management that people just don't know how to use windows, and that this would be a way to quickly introduce them to usage. They aren't exactly a crowd favorite, but the problem is that pesky 'Notes' tab, which allows a user to keep custom Note information per window. What do you think, is anyone using Toad Tips and the Tips 'Notes' feature?
For the various Encoding types in the Save dialogs, include NO BOM versions like UltraEdit does, e.g.:
UTF-8
UTF-8 NO BOM
Adding a "Date" field to the Query Viewer would allow viewing queries which were executed on different days. Currently there is only "Time," which assumes that everything was done in just one day.
For administrators, offer a command-line installer parameter to copy a previous Toad's application data files, to bypass the prompt at run time and ensure consistency for multiple site users
Offer a 64-bit Toad when a 64-bit Delphi becomes available
Spend time getting multiple instances of Toad running better concurrently. There are issues with file access errors
