Enable Commit- and Rollback-buttons only at open transactions

I'd like to have an indication, a litte bit more eye-catching, when there's an open transaction after data-manipulation. So you could enable/highlight Commit- and Rollback-Buttons only when there's an open transaction.

Currently Commit/Rollback buttons are active regardless of whether or not there is an uncommited transaction in the session. Could that behaviour be changed so that those buttons become active Commit/Rollback buttons when an uncommited transactions exists and remain inactive when not.

It's a great way to see at a glance if you have live transactions.

  2. At the same time, i can issue a COMMIT or ROLLBACK anytime I want in a tool like SQL*Plus, regardless if there's any outstanding transactions.

Also, if you query over a DB_LINK, it automatically thinks there are uncommitted transactions.

If implemented, I hope it's an option.
